Pistyll Cain
A SSSI site of national importance for bryophytes (ferns) and mosses. From Glyn-yr-Aur leave the front door and go right along a track then left immediately before the first gate. Proceed downhill then through a gate into a short section of forest. Leave the forest by a second gate and turn left. Go through the next gate and follow the bridal path until it joins up with a forest road. Follow the road downstream past the goldmines and turn right at the next opportunity. Down to the bridge. Cross the bridge and turn left for the falls. The water above these falls used to be piped past the falls and used to generate hydroelctric power for both the nearby Gwynfynydd Gold Mine and the nearby village of Ganllwyd.
