This route is marked in red on coed5.doc† (1.5Mb)
Follow the Tarmac road from Glyn yr Aur across the cattle grid.
After 200 metres turn right onto a rough track through the field
(You may need to untie and retie the gate)
Go down the track turning off and to the left into a large field.
Go down the field (with the derelict barn well to† your left) curving to the right through a gap in a stone wall into a smaller field which has two gates.
Go through the wooden(not the metal) gate into a forest track.
Follow the track down hill for 50 metres to a T junction with another path.
Turn left and follow the path DOWNSTREAM.
Eventually you pass through an open gate (our boundary) onto a forest road.
Continue downstream past a ford then noting the gold mine shafts and buildings† on the opposite side of the river.
Then you reach a cross roads.
One track goes uphill to the left (the MBR route) (it can also get you back but thatís for another map).
The forest road continues down hill (to the pub!)
A second track turns very sharply downhill to the right.
Cross a stone bridge.
Turn left (downstream as ever).
Worth looking at the waterfalls first on the left and then on the right.
After the falls on the right cross a metal bridge and follow the stone
track downstream reaching
Pass but don't cross first a bridge then a car park then a second bridge. After the second bridge take the track bearing to the right which leads onto another tarmac road (bear right) and then to a fork in the road.
Take the left hand track (actually straight on) and follow this upstream for a mile to the New Visitor Centre.
